Vestibular Rehabilitation

The therapist uses targeted exercises and maneuvers to retrain your brain to process balance signals correctly. This could include head movements, eye exercises, balance training and walking activities. The canalith repositioning procedure can help relieve benign paroxysmal positional vertigo (BPPV). BPPV is a condition that causes brief, but intense, feelings of dizziness and spinning. These sensations also are known as vertigo.

Every patient is different, but many people start feeling better within a few visits.

Some exercises can cause dizziness, however that is completely normal. Exercise will retrain your vestibular system. Our therapist will provide you exercise progressions tailored for your safety and comfort.

If your dizziness is severe or unpredictable, driving may not be recommended. Your therapist will work with you and guide you on when it is safe to return to driving.
